Condom and Lubricant
Safety
Which Lubricant is Best for You?
First thing
first, we all know that safe sex with condoms is important. What some people
don’t know is what lubricants are safe to use with condoms. Most lubricants are
designed to be condom compatible but some people have other methods of
lubrication. When it comes to lubricants you will find a large selection to
choose from. You will find water, silicone, petroleum or oil based lubes.
Some home
remedies such as Crisco, Baby Oil, Vaseline, Vegetable oil or massage oils are
definitely not safe. These items may cause the latex condom to wear down and
eventually break. You never want to insert anything into the vagina or the anus
that is oil or petroleum based. Oils do not wash out of the body; therefore they
may cause an infection in the vagina.
A water or
glycerin based lube such as ID and Shunga Toko Aroma (water based, non glycerin) are safe to use with condoms. Lubes
with glycerin may cause the product to become sticky.
A silicone based
lube such as ID Millennium or Shunga TOKO Silicone is also safe to be used with condoms and they will
not dry nor become sticky. A silicone based lube is perfect for water play
or anal play because it is not water soluble and will remain slick. Only a tiny
amount is needed for a full night of passion.
Lotions and
Massage oils while they feel great on the body and smell so nice don’t be so
quick to grab the bottle to use as a lube. Oils and lotions are perfectly safe
for male masturbation but the females should stick with water ,glycerin or
silicone based
products. The Shunga warming lotions and Body Heat are glycerin based and can be
used for lubrication but you may find that with the friction of sex, the heats
is
a little more than desired!
If you have a
certain product that you would like to use as a lubricant but it isn’t
manufactured as a lube, do your self a favor and read the ingredients. It’s
always better to be safe than sorry.
Always
Remember, the Best Sex is Safe Sex!
Always Use a Condom!!
